Terri, I think at least Jaws 13 works best with Windows 7. I'd recommend she download a demo of Jaws 15 to see if that resolves most if not all of her issues. Otherwise, some settings might just need to be tweaked. She might even find that the newer version of Jaws does work with her employer's software.

Subject: [Nfbktad] Windows 7 Problems

Hello wise computer people,
A friend of mine has just installed Windows 7 on her two PCs. I use Windows 7 at home and at work with Jaws 15. She is currently using Jaws 11.
She is having dreadful problems. I just looked at her system and have several questions that hopefully some of you wise people can answer.
1. What is the earliest Jaws that works well with Windows 7?
She works as a transcriptionist; her company provides frames for their software that only work with Jaws 11. Her company also requires her to use Windows 7.
2. In the Documents folder, pressing a letter opens a windows search for that letter and does not take you to the first file name with that letter.
3. When opening a file with WordPad, WordPad only shows the text files in a folder even though tabbing to the3 file types item shows me that all the file types including doc that WordPad can open are listed -- meaning I thought that WordPad could see and open all of these file types if they were shown in the file types box.
3. Internet Explorer shows many many blank lines and misses over half of the material on a web page. I tried with a page I know well to verify this.

She would appreciate any help any of you can offer.
Best regards,
Terrie Terlau
