[Nfbktad] volume Question in Windows 8

Hello again,

I have successfully (with many fits and starts) gotten a Hauppage TV USB
stick installed on my Windows 8 laptop this weekend. However, my X (who used
to do the TV card work)had the same problem that I now have: The TV sound
volume is very much lower than the sound volume for everything else. I have
to sit right next to the laptop to hear the TV. I have external speakers
that have their own volume control and I will use them with the TV. However,
if I need Jaws, and I use the external speakers at a level to hear the TV,
Jaws will blast the roof off (smile). I have looked through all the Hauppage
settings and will read their manual and write for their tech support.
However, I wondered if anyone on this list has used a TV card in their
computer and if so, I am hoping they had found a solution to the volume
problem. Wiser heads than mine are needed )smile).

One nice thing is that you can record with this card and it appears that you
can start and stop live TV with it. It comes with a little remote and also
has keyboard controls for most functions. So it is truly accessible! I think
I bought mine for around $99, though I saw it on the Hauppage site today for
$129. But it is cheaper than a TV if you already have a computer. This model
can hook into cable and also comes with a portable antenna and the
attachment to hook to an antenna, so you can get both kinds of TV with it.
You can also hook a satellite dish box into the stick. It has a very cute
tiny remote as well.

Thanks for any thoughts any of you might have.

With best wishes,

Terrie Terlau
