There is an interesting new feature in iOS9, had blocking.  If you're viewing pages there is a good chance a lot of what you're downloading and listening to is advertising.  The process of downloading ads that you don't want to read anyway wastes your battery, data and time. Apple is now allowing ad-Blocking apps for Safari. 

 

Keep in mind that content providers often rely on this advertising revenue for their income.

Here is a link to Crystal, a 99 cent ad-blocker mentioned in the article. It does not work with my ancient iPhone 4S. It requires iOS9 and iPhone 5S or later, so I can't give you any hands-on knowledge.
