The following comes from Andrea Bodnari:

GrackleDocs & Creating Accessible Documents

In the digital era of collaborating with blind adults and students
creating accessible documents had been a struggle. Although we are able to
create a document that is recognized and read my a screen reader our ideas
of accessible need to expand. As a sighted person I can simply point out we
visually scan a long document looking for Bold text, titles, and topic
headings. Blind users utilize a screen reader to access digital materials
and navigate though a document in just the same way, not only for reading
but most importantly for editing.

So how can the everyday person who is not a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
or other vision professional create an accessible document?

Well, I recently came across a Google Docs Add-On called GrackleDocs.
GrackleDocs will review your document for accessibility, identify areas that
need to be revised, and then walk you through the document assisting you in
making the necessary changes in minutes. It will assist you in labeling your
document, creating headings, labeling pictures, tables, footnotes and more.
GrackleDocs is the simplest add-on for the everyday user to crate accessible
documents. Work on iOS using Chrome Browser
