All,

With this year's Institute in Assistive Technology conference (June 13th and
14th) is quickly approaching us, I wanted to make you aware of some new
technologies that we plan to have on hand for our session on emerging and
developing assistive technologies. These products will also be available in
the exhibit room for further demonstration and exploration. While there will
be many products covered in the session, we are planning to have the
following items available for hands on demonstration:

Double 2 Telepresence Robot

The lack of direct engagement between homebound students and teachers is one
of the most reported problems in K-12 distance-education. Many parents and
administrators agree that the mandated 5-10 hours of homebound instruction a
district provides just isn't enough.

Because having a face-to-face interaction is crucial to giving students rich
learning experiences, schools like Sebasticook Middle School are providing
their homebound students with a Double. Using this iPad telepresence robot
can make class participation more inclusive for the homebound student while
increasing participation in the classroom with their peers.

RING Video Intercom Doorbell

The Ring Video Doorbell lets you answer the door from anywhere there is
internet connection using your smartphone. It uses a HD camera with night
vision. Motion-triggered alerts sent via the free Ring app (iOS and Android)
notify you of arriving guests and deliveries. Cloud Recording enables you to
view footage you were unable to see in real time. A built-in rechargeable
battery lets you install the doorbell anywhere, or connect it to existing
doorbell wiring. Product is also available with an optional chime bell that
