National Braille Press Invites You to Two Free Virtual Events this Spring!

Join us on Thursday, April 22nd at 7pm EST to celebrate poetry with other
braille readers! Listen to published poets read their work, or read a poem
yourself. The theme for this event is hope, and our poets include Jill
Khoury, Stephen Kuusisto, Emily Michael and Dan Simpson. The first 50 people
who register will be given a braille copy of "The Hill We Climb" by Amanda
Gorman. Thanks to braille reader and poetry enthusiast Katherine Schneider
for making this possible!

On May 4th at noon EST, we're offering a free estate planning workshop, led
by Christine M. Morgan, J.D., LL.M of Wilchins Cosentino & Novins LLP.
You'll learn how to protect your family with an estate plan, the myths about
having an estate plan and how you can benefit today.  

It is estimated 70% of Americans do not have a will or other estate plans.
Estate planning does not have to be complicated. Christine will give an
overview on how having an estate plan helps to carry out your specific
wishes, helps your family if there is a health crisis, and helps to make
things much easier for all of those involved in handling your post-death
matters. Wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care proxies, and
living wills will be covered. This presentation will also touch on
charitable giving, including lifetime gifts and gifts through a will, trust,
or beneficiary designation. There will also be time for general questions
and answers. Additionally, you will learn about NBP's Braille for Life
Alliance and its impact on the future of braille.
