
<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body dir="auto"><div></div><div>The following is from <a href="http://wired.com">wired.com</a>: </div><div><br></div><div><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">The original Fire TV Stick did not have the voice search option; now you can get that for only $10 more. If you have the original Stick, you can add voice search a number of ways. <br style="box-sizing: border-box;"><br style="box-sizing: border-box;">One: buy the $29.99 <a href="http://zdbb.net/u/bgo" target="_blank" style="box-sizing: border-box; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Voice Remote for Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick</a>(essentially the same one that comes with the Fire TV). That's kinda silly, since it's almost as expensive as the Stick itself. Plus, it doesn't appear to be currently available. <br style="box-sizing: border-box;"><br style="box-sizing: border-box;">Better yet, <em style="box-sizing: border-box; line-height: inherit;">download</em> the Fire TV remote app. Get it for <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.storm.lightning.client.aosp&hl=en" target="_blank" style="box-sizing: border-box; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Android</a> (even direct from the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Fire-TV-Remote-App/dp/B00ODIASKC" target="_blank" style="box-sizing: border-box; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Amazon Appstore for Android</a>) or <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amazon-fire-tv-remote/id947984433?mt=8" target="_blank" style="box-sizing: border-box; line-height: inherit; text-decoration: none;">iOS</a>. The phone will need to be on the same Wi-Fi network as the Amazon Fire TV to work; if you have a dual-band network, make sure your phone and Fire are both on the same frequency, either 2.4 or 5GHz. The name of the Fire TV should appear on the smartphone screen; click it, then punch in the 4-digit code that comes up on the screen and it'll give you complete control. <br style="box-sizing: border-box;"><br style="box-sizing: border-box;">The app provides just as much control as the included remote plus the full on-screen smartphone keyboard for entering info like usernames and password. It also has the microphone for the Fire TV voice capabilities; it'll make you wonder why Amazon bothered making the hardware.</span></div><div><br></div></body></html>
