<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"">Following the successful hike of the Maryland section of the Appalachian Trail by Lou Ann Blake and Maurice Peret, the NFB of Maryland has been invited to participate in a
 parade celebrating the 75th anniversary of the completion of the 2, 180 mile long Appalachian Trail. The parade will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The parade route will be three-quarters of a mile long
 and will include an uphill portion approximately one-quarter mile in length.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"">All NFB of Maryland members and their families are encouraged to participate in this fun opportunity to help change what it means to be blind in the great outdoors. We will
 be walking the entire length of the parade route, carrying signs, and handing out Braille alphabet cards to parade watchers. Those interested in participating in the parade should contact Maurice Peret at

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"">Your help is needed to come up with catchy slogans that will be displayed on signs carried by parade participants. We are looking for slogans like "Changing What it Means
 to be Blind in the Great Outdoors" and "Have You Met a Blind Hiker Today?" Please forward your suggestions to Maurice or Lou Ann by Wednesday, August 1st.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
