Sharon, Ellen,

The next set of boutiques is up - also on the NFB.org front page:

Converting printed text to digital text: optical character recognition in the office and on the go: June 23, 8:00-10:00 a.m.
Optical character recognition (OCR) has been around since the seventies, but it has only recently started to resemble the convenient, no-holds-barred conversion from a slice-of-tree page to a digital file that makes it live up to what was imagined back then. Technology companies are still working on image and handwriting recognition, but in the meantime you have at your fingertips all the options you need to convert hardbacks to more portable and screenreader-friendly version, to read the label on a package, and to make sure that you don't ever have to carry conference materials home with you again. Join us for an overview of the power and the glory of OCR.

Accessible websites, made accessibly - an introduction to Wordpress: July 25, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Your new blog, your portfolio website, your online store - they don't have to lock out customers. What's more, there is no reason that you need sight to build it. Wordpress is one of the most commonly used platforms for building sites, and in this boutique we will go over some of the tools and techniques that are yours for the taking when you build your accessible site.

If you are interested in attending either or both of these boutiques, RSVP to cvangerven at nfb.org<mailto:cvangerven at nfb.org>; space is limited.

The event will be held at the National Federation of the Blind Jernigan Institute at:
200 East Wells Street
at Jernigan Place
Baltimore, MD 21230

Best,

Clara
