This is my favorite time of year - and not because Dunkin' Donuts starts to carry Pumpkin Spice. It's because this time of year when curling up with a good book and tea is expected. October is Dyslexia Awareness Month, World Blindness Month, and Learning Disabilities Awareness Month. And because of this, Governor Wes Moore of Maryland proclaimed October *Print Disabilties Month *in Maryland. I have attached an image of the proclamation as well as a transcript. (Any typos are mine.) To celebrate, Maryland LBPD is hosting free events that any and all can attend. I'm listing them below: 1. BRAILLED IT watch party - registration opens October 7th 2. BRAILLED IT movie discussion - registration now open, held October 13 3. IEPs and Print Disabilities - registration open, held October 20 4. Neuroscience of Dyslexia - registration open, held October 22 5. Stroke and Dyslexia - registration open, held October 27 Please share these programs widely with your networks, as they are open to any who'd like to attend.
