Macomb County sheriff's deputies arrested two teenage brothers Friday in connection with Monday's attack and robbery of a blind Mt. Clemens resident.

 

Sheriff Mark Hackel said the teens confessed Friday morning to beating Daniel Perron, 50, with his cane as he walked home at 6:30 p.m. Monday along North

River Road outside his apartment building. Perron had just cashed his disability check at a party store. Community groups presented Perron with $600 to

replace the money at a ceremony Thursday.

 

Witnesses originally reported Perron was attacked by at least a half-dozen teens and young men, but only two participated, Hackel added. The 17-year-old,

who is in the Macomb County Jail, is expected to be arraigned Monday on assault and unarmed robbery charges, Hackel said. His brother, who is in the county's

juvenile detention center, is scheduled to have a private hearing today because he is a minor.
