Englewood woman charged in crash that killed blind student - KDVR

LITTLETON, Colo. -- Police have filed misdemeanor charges against an Englewood woman who accidentally crashed into a group of blind students at a Littleton

bus stop earlier this month, killing one of them.

 

Nina Mastroianna, 21, faces charges of Careless Driving Resulting in Death and Careless Resting in Injury.

 

Investigators say Mastroianna lost control of her SUV on an icy road while making a right turn onto West Mineral Ave. on the morning of Dec. 17. Her vehicle

crashed into the bus stop, striking three students from the Colorado Center for the Blind.

 

Dave Nanney, 47, died from “massive injuries.”

 

The other victims, Helen Sydnor, 18, and Carissa Ubersox, 26, are out of the hospital and said to be recovering at home, police said.
