Please add my letter to our legislators to the adjenda.

Dear _____,

I would like to commend you on not reappointing the two members to the
Michigan Commission for the Blind board of commissioners, as the governor
requested.

There is no transparency in this appointment process. We would like to know

whom is being considered for this position.

In the past, the commission board has been acting as "yes men" to the
director, Pat Cannon. PA 260 states that the commission board is to give the

director instructions on how to run the Michigan Commission for the Blind.
Not the other way around.

Furthermore, the commission board is to respond to the public interest,
especially the blind community. It does not appear to be happening.

We are working hard to correct this condition with the Michigan Commission
for the Blind and welcome your support.

Changing what it means to be blind,

Marcus Simmons, vice-president,

Western-Wayne chapter and a member of the board of directors of the National

Federation of the Blind of Michigan

28179 Brentwood

Southfield, MI 48076-3069
