Subject: [NFBAffiliatePresidents] Canes For The Blind

Colleagues,

Judging by the emails I have received this evening, I suspect many of you
are receiving a message entitled "Canes for the Blind."

Here is what I know about Bob and his business.

Bob is an at large member of our state affiliate. He's a former employee of
Outlook Nebraska, a sheltered workshop, with whom NFBN is currently in a
legal battle against. The NFB of Nebraska filed an EEOC charge on behalf of
blind workers which is still being investigated. Additionally, since filing
the charge, another employee has been let go and we feel that action
represented retaliation for the employee's advocacy for himself and others.

Bob is a decent guy just trying to utilize his skills and make a living.

I have also checked out his canes. They are very light weight and pretty
decent. Some say they are too flimsy, however.

Our state agency has purchased some canes from him in addition to canes
manufactured in Louisiana and from our Independence Market. They'd be worth
a try if you are in the market.

Let me know if I can be of any further help.

Amy

Hi. I would like to introduce myself. I am Bob Riley, the owner of B Canes
of Fremont, Nebraska. We are a new company started for the employment of the
blind and for the marketing of canes for the blind. I would like to ask you
to tell your members about us and ask them to try our canes the next time
they have to order a new one. We are confident you will like our tapered
canes with the nfb tips or the rainshine tips on them. You can check us out
on our website bcanes.com. You can also email us at bober49 at q.com or call us
at 402 727 5806. Thanks for your time. Bob
