Subject: College Policy board aproved draft

 

I am Happy to share with the college policy work group the pending board
approved draft that is now awaiting RSA approval.  Pat sent this draft along
with a letter to RSA. In the letter he specifically requested that the
language in section 10 and 11, under policy C - Financial Aid be reviewed
for legality.  Hopefully RSA will see the true beauty and fairness of this
policy and provide Pat and the MCB with it's approval.

 

I would again like to thank all of you who have been involved in the
process.  Everyone's input was so key to the development of this very cool
policy.  I would encourage staff and consumers alike to document any issues
that may arise in the next year that might need to be considered when the
board reviews the policy.  

 

I have to say, I feel honored and privileged to have been a part of this
most unique process. I must give special thanks to Pat, who, despite outside
pressures to get this policy done, listened to constituents and the board,
hired a facilitator, authorize space and time for the work group meeting,
which all lead to a document that is consumer focused.  We, of course, will
all remember to acknowledge Sherry Gordon's part in all this. Without the
foundation of the original draft which she so diligently correlated, the
evolution of this document would have been so much harder and may not have
ended up where it is today. THANK YOU SHERRY!!!

Sue, can you make sure everyone who was on the work group gets this?  My
computer crashed and I'm going from memory. I know I do not hav Shawnees and
one of the Mohnke ladies addresses. Thanks.
