Right on Fred!  Blindness is only one part of us.  It is fun to stop and think of how many things we are besides blind.  For instance, I'm a husband, Dad, former vendor etc.  To focus on the blindness is only just one small part and usually not the most important.  Having said that, sometimes the blindness matters to some.  For instance if you want to be a taxi driver.  Currently, we can't do that but maybe in the future we could.  If so, we will have to be familiar with what that entails and how we will be able to do that and convince those employers to hire us.  
Intelligence is always claimed but rarely proven!
