Our church, not Catholic, does the same thing with Silent night.  Each
person lights their candle from the person next to them.  The Deacons light
the first person's candle in each row.  Very moving ceremony.

Is this a Protestant or Catholic tradition?  We sang this without candles,
but I think this would be neat holding a candel.  I used to play with fire
as a kid until Mom whipped my "A Double Scribble."
