Blind Skiers Enjoy Weekend Getaway at Higgins Lake

A Michigan group is proving that visually and mobility impaired people can enjoy winter activities just like everyone else.

 

Michigan Ski For Light held its 30th annual event this weekend at Higgins Lake.

 

The blind and mobility impaired gathered at the MacMullan Conference Center for a weekend full of fun, headed by plenty of cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

 

An organizer of the event says everyone enjoys this annual trip.

 

The event wouldn't be possible without help from the Roscommon Lions Club and students from Central Michigan University, who volunteer for the event.
