Anyone who has a disability before the age of twenty two has a "developmental disability". That sure should include our blind kids!

Delta College hosting open house to showcase Project SEARCH partnership | MLive.com

FRANKENLUST TOWNSHIP — Area educators are invited to take part in a open house Friday at
Delta College
highlighting a program designed to help adult students with disabilities gain work experience.
Project SEARCH,
founded in 1996 at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, provides supervised internships to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Delta College is in it’s first year of partnership with Project SEARCH.
The open house is Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. in room N012 on Delta College’s campus, 1961 Delta Road.
The open house features an overview of the program, sponsors’ comments and a tour of the campus-based worksite.
Delta’s Project SEARCH worksites include food services, facilities management, trades and manufacturing area, sustainability and library learning information
center.
The program is a joint effort by Delta College, Bay-Arenac Intermediate School District, Do-All, Inc., Michigan Rehabilitation Services and Bay-Arenac Behavioral
Health Authority.
