The MCB BTBL Computer Club meets on the second Saturday of the month.  Monthly topics range from presentations by vendors on new adaptive devices to hands-on training on Microsoft Word to field trips to adaptive computer labs. October 1-31, 2011     Investing in Abilities Month in Michigan, proclaimed by Governor Rick Snyder.  Read the complete proclamation on the MCB website at www.michigan.gov/mcb in the Events Calendar under October 2011.

 

October 6-9, 2011       Michigan Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired (MCBVI) Annual Convention.  MCBVI will hold its 38th Annual Convention in Lansing at the Causeway Bay Hotel & Conference Center, 6820 South Cedar Street. The keynote speaker will be Mitch Pomerantz, president of the American Council of the Blind.  On the first day of the convention, October 6, there will be a fundraiser 7:30-11:00 p.m. on the Michigan Princess Riverboat in Lansing.  Fundraiser tickets are $40 and include a dinner buffet with BBQ ribs, vegetarian lasagne, au gratin potatoes, baked beans, assorted salads, corn, honey baked cornbread, rolls, dessert, coffee, and tea.
