[nfbmi-talk] Faith Meadows Letter

I have listened for months about the trials and tribulations of the Michigan
Commission for the Blind. I have heard folks praised. I have heard folks
bashed. I have heard people's abilities defamed and their reputations called
in to question, but what I haven't heard suggested, which I am going to do
is to ask if the present leadership of the MCB is so bad, why don't you do
something about it rather than hurl insults ineuendo and accusations at it.
Certainly as an appointee with a boss somewhere within the political empire
which is the state this person or these people who are making such bad
decisions for blind folks ought to be able to be recalled or removed from
their position. If you feel you have a case, then put it together and
present it in a public forum where the press and others in political office
will have to take note of how powerfully you present your position. Site the
Rehab acts and other laws which you feel have been violated. Show what the
violations are and when they occured. Send out a press release stating your
position and why you have taken that position. Let's stop calling names,
hurling epithets and move forward. All this name-calling is getting long
since boring, tiring and oftentimes to no avail. Let's take a stand and make
it stick. Let's show how strong we are and what we stand for and gain
further respect for what we know and believe to be right, for ourselves and
those who will come after us.
