If we're around, we'll have astronauts and aquanauts as well.

Indeed Jason. We and the sighted world need not understand that which a
blind individual is productively accomplishing, rather that that a blind
person is achieving it effectively despite perceived barriers. The lack of
understanding on our part is part of the awesomeness and wow of the
achievement as an individual, despite any disability. That is what defines
equality and independence by the blind in a sighted world. The spreading of
news of Jordon's and so many other blind persons achievements will educate
the world about abilities of persons with disabilities, and expand
opportunities for all persons with disabilities for future generations, and
yet, each generation shall be faced with challenges to opportunities, that
might be perceived as barriers, such as the field of software, that did not
exist a generation ago. In six decades we as blind have come from selling
pencils on the street corners, and making brooms in sweatshops, to making
decisions in the corporate board room and discovery and life-enhancing
advances in the high-tech field. This is a testament of the NFB philosophy,
action, growth , influence for a better world, and continued drive and
endless endurance. Education of the sighted world is our best ally to
demonstrate the abilities of we the blind through our achievements as equals
to our sighted peers.

So refreshing to see a non-patronizing article about a blind person. Well
done, even though I didn't understand half of the things you're doing. I'll
be working for you someday, grin.
