KALAMAZOO, MI - The Michigan Commission for the Blind Training Center at 1541 Oakland Drive will host an open house from 1p.m. to 4 p.m. today, June 4.

This is the "grand re-opening" of the training center after a year-long, $3.5 million renovation.

Students will be leading tours of the newly-renovated facility, including the new, state-of-the-art technology center.

The center serves clients of the Michigan Commission for the Blind who are at least 16 years of age. There is no maximum age requirement. Referrals are made through MCB counselors and/or teachers statewide.

Students and teachers will be available today to demonstrate adaptive devices, software, reading and writing Braille, and food, music, and conversation with staff and students will be featured.

The open house is free and open to the public.
