Here is another example of an NFB teaching moment, and the purpose of the
NFB national voter hotline and survey that was posted on here following the
election.

The people in the Detroit Dept. of Elections should hear this.

Both the Help America Vote Act and the ADA require that such accessible
equipment is in working order. That is the law and both are civil rights
laws.

I think this would be a good idea. Also, it is possible the Automark was
not working properly when the voter went to vote. I know this could be
possible because it happened to me. However, I have good reason to believe
that my ballot was marked how I wanted it to be marked. I just felt bad
taking so much time with the poll workers reading the ballot to a sleep
deprived college student even though I know this is part of there job. I
actually think the punch cards were more accessible in terms of having to
have someone read you the ballot. I felt as though I had more control over
who I was voting for when using the punch card system as I could physically
punch in my selections after they were read to me.

Just my thoughts on the subject for what they are worth.
