State Representative Jim Stamas was elected to his second term in the Michigan House
of Representatives in November 2010, representing portions of Midland and Saginaw
counties.
COMMITTEES
Stamas serves as majority floor leader of the Michigan House. He also chairs the
House Government Operations Committee and serves on the House Regulatory Reform Committee.
EDUCATION
Stamas holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Northwood University
and an associate's degree in business management from Delta College.
PROFESSIONAL
Stamas is the owner and former general manager of Pizza Sam's, the eatery in Midland
the Stamas family has owned for nearly 50 years. Prior to running the family business,
Stamas was self-employed as a realtor and was project manager at Case Systems.
PUBLIC OFFICES AND AFFILIATIONS
Stamas is a former two-term Midland County commissioner. He was a Midland Township trustee from 1997-2004. He served on the boards of the Midland Downtown Development Authority, Midland Downtown Business Association, and Midland County Planning Commission.
PERSONAL
Jim and wife, Marsha, have been married for more than 25 years, and have a daughter
and a son.
PUBLIC SERVICE
Stamas served his country honorably in both the U.S. Army and the Michigan National
Guard. In recognition of Jim's effectiveness and leadership his colleagues elected
him Majority Floor Leader, for the 96th Session of the Legislature. As Majority Floor
Leader, Stamas is charged with setting the overall agenda and direction for the House
of Representatives. It is Stamas's responsibility as Majority Floor Leader to run
the House agenda, call for votes and share responsibility for decisions on procedural
matters.

Republican State Rep. Aric Nesbitt was first elected to the Michigan House in November 2010. He represents the 80th District, which includes all of Van Buren County, City of
Otsego and the townships of Otsego and Watson in Allegan County.
EDUCATION
Nesbitt is a graduate of Lawton High School, attended Kalamazoo Valley Community
College during high school, and worked his way through Hillsdale College, earning
a bachelor's degree in economics. He also has a master's degree in international
business.
PROFESSIONAL
Nesbitt most recently was the lead Republican staffer for the bipartisan Congressional
Natural Gas Caucus, which is dedicated to more American jobs and less foreign oil,
and the Congressional Steel Caucus, which is working to protect American manufacturing jobs. He also worked as a legislative director in the U.S. House of Representatives. Early in his career, Nesbitt worked for former State Representative and State Senator Tom George.
PERSONAL
Nesbitt grew up on a six-generation family dairy and grape farm south of Lawton in
Porter Township and continues to reside in Porter Township. He is the son Gordon
and Ann Nesbitt and the middle of five children. He is a member of the National Rifle
Association, Van Buren County Farm Bureau, South Haven Steelheaders, Paw Paw and
South Haven Chambers of Commerce, and Van Buren and Allegan County Republican Parties.
He has served as a Republican precinct delegate, on the Van Buren County Executive
Committee, and a delegate to the Michigan State Republican Convention. Nesbitt is
also a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a nonpartisan
individual membership organization of state legislators which favors federalism and
limited government public policy solutions.

State Representative Tom McMillin was elected to second term in the Michigan House
of Representatives in November 2010, representing residents of Rochester, Rochester
Hills, and Oakland Township. McMillin serves on three committees, including Regulatory, Reform, Government Operations and chair of Oversight, Reform and Ethics Committee.
EDUCATION
Tom has a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Economics from the University of Michigan.
PROFESSIONAL
Tom is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) business owner and has experience as a
chief financial officer for a diverse range of corporate clients.

Tom is an active member of the Rochester Chamber of Commerce, a former Oakland County commissioner, a former Auburn Hills City Council member, former mayor of Auburn Hills, and a Republican National Delegate in 1996 and 2000.

State Representative Vicki Barnett is serving her second term in the Michigan House.
She represents the 37th House District, which includes the cities of Farmington and
Farmington Hills.****
As State Representative, Barnett is focusing on:
Creating good-paying jobs now in high-demand industries like renewable energy, life
sciences, and biotechnology.
Fighting the outsourcing of our workers' jobs while creating more jobs here in Michigan.
Protecting funding for our schools and improving access to higher education so all

Before coming to the House, Barnett served on the Farmington Hills City Council from
1995 to 2003 and as Mayor of Farmington Hills from 2003 to 2007. As mayor, Barnett
worked with state and federal officials to improve police, fire and emergency communications and crafted legislation to encourage economic redevelopment in metropolitan areas.
Education
Barnett is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, receiving her master's
in business administration in 1991. A former investment consultant, Barnett also
served as the president of the Michigan Municipal League, chair of the Data Advisory
Council for the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, and as a board member
of the National League of Cities.
Personal
Barnett and her husband, Mark, live in Farmington Hills. They have two grown children,
Samantha and Jordan.

State Representative Andrew J. Kandrevas is serving his second term in the Michigan
House of Representatives. He represents the 13th House District, which includes Southgate, Wyandotte, Riverview and Trenton.
Before coming to the House in 2009, Kandrevas served as council president for the
city of Southgate in addition to running his own law office. He also served on Southgate's Planning Commission prior to being elected to the City Council.
During his legal career, Kandrevas worked as a member of the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office; assistant city attorney and prosecutor for the city of Lincoln Park; and staff attorney to Detroit City Councilwoman Sheila Cockrel.
In 2006, Kandrevas opened his own law office in the same Southgate building where
his father, 28th District Court Judge James Kandrevas, had practiced law throughout
Kandrevas' childhood.
Kandrevas is past-president of the Southgate Democratic Club and the Michigan Hellenic
Bar Association and a member of the Southgate Kiwanis.
Kandrevas is a resident of Southgate, where he was raised and has lived much of his
life. He graduated from Southgate Aquinas High School in 1993 and went on to receive
his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan in 1997.
He earned a degree from Wayne State University Law School in 2001.

HB6006, a Michigan House Bill that would exempt the State Legislature from the Business Enterprise Program, is currently in the House Committee on Government Operations. Attached is a list of the Committee members, with details of each member's political, professional and personal backgrounds. I suggest strongly that you read the attached file and contact each of the representatives on this committee and explain why this Bill is a bad idea. At this point, they probably have no clue what the truth is regarding BSBP/MCB and why a capable, motivated, qualified blind person has not been found for the State Plate.
