All note the direct violations of the ADA/504 in this job description in
Peckham. Note the requirement directly stated to see and, for that matter to
hear. Also the driver's license and ability to drive. These are not
essential functions of the job and clearly are discriminatory on their face
especially against those who are blind or deaf.





And this is our leading community rehabilitation program which also
contracts with the former Michigan commission for the Blind for youth
transition services?

Position Title:              Youth Services Specialist #1372

SUMMARY



The Footprints Youth Services Specialist serves youth referred by the 30th
Judicial Circuit Court - Family Division. This position is responsible for
the

planning and implementation of each youth's individualized treatment plan,
group activities, and participation with an inter-agency team to provide
comprehensive

academic, vocational, and life skills training.  Our contract requires this
position be filled by a female staff person.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:



1.         Develop and supervise the implementation of the individualized
court youth program plans for agency participants - Daily



2.         Write detailed treatment plans, observation notes, interim
reports, and final staffing reports - Daily



3.         Develop and conduct regular systematic socialization, community
living, personal care, communication and vocational skill training programs

4.         Develop and facilitate ongoing groups related to the cognitive
behavioral model.



5.         Coordinate functional academic programs with Lansing School
District - Daily



6.         Maintain complete case records, program evaluations and follow-up
systems in accordance with CARF and Peckham, Inc. standards - Daily



7.         Oversee the youth programs computerized report system - As Needed



8.         Prepare and perform orientation with new students - As Needed



9.         Supervise program activities and outings - As Needed



10.       Crisis intervention as needed.



11.       Maintain safe and clean work environment - Daily



12.       Assist in the training of people with disabilities as needed.



13.       Promote Peckham's vision values, and services to all customers and
stakeholders - Daily



14.       Miscellaneous duties as assigned.



15.       Interpret results of individualized programs to participants and
referring counselors via informal/formal staffings - Daily



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES



This job has no supervisory responsibilities.



COMMENTS



This position requires passing and maintaining security background checks.
Must have access to reliable transportation. Must maintain an unrestricted
Michigan

driver's license and possess a clear driving record (in accordance with
company insurance policy) to drive the company vehicle.



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



Bachelor or four years experience required, Master's degree (M. A.) or four

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability

to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability
to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers,

clients, customers, and the general public.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS



Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest,
commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to

apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.



REASONING ABILITY



Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability
to interpret

a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
form.

Prefer L.P.C. - Licensed Professional Counselor, State of Michigan
