National Federation of the Blind Congratulates
Blind MasterChef Winner

Baltimore, Maryland (September 12, 2012): The National Federation of
the Blind<http://www.nfb.org/>, the oldest and largest organization of
blind people in the United States, today congratulated Christine Ha,
the winner of season three of MasterChef, a competitive cooking
reality television show.

Dr. Marc Maurer<http://www.nfb.org/marc-maurer-bio>, President of the
National Federation of the Blind<http://www.twitter.com/NFB_voice>,
said: "The National Federation of the Blind congratulates Christine Ha
not only for winning MasterChef but also for helping to break down
stereotypes and misconceptions about the abilities of blind people.
She won the competition following the same rules as her sighted
competitors and in so doing demonstrated the true capacity of the
blind. Ms. Ha is proof of our conviction that blind people, given the
proper training and opportunity, can compete on a basis of equality
with our sighted peers."
