I've also read that there's night ride share 7 nights a week, and holidays.
It is also a share ride taxi service cost $2.0 along with ada para transit
card.  That service is in the Annarbor area.

I think if transit is a big goal for you then Ann Arbor is a good choice.
There's lots of college kids but also lots to do in town and a city and
transit agency that gets it. There's also now hourly bus service to Detroit
airport (East Lansing will soon have this too) and soon higher speed rail
between Detroit and Chicago that passes through Ann Arbor.
Ypsy was just officially voted into the Ann Arbor Area Transit Authority as
well. AS with many cities, living closer to the urban core is generally
better for those without vehicles.
Welcome to Michigan, and hope to perhaps see you at the convention in Grand
Rapids in October.
