I am pleased to provide your organization with a DRAFT copy of the proposed State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL) for FY 2014-16.  The SPIL vision is; “To champion systemic change creating inclusive communities across the state for all Michigan citizens,” the mission;  “To promote independent living opportunities across all spheres of life.” 



  The formal PUBLIC HEARING  is being held in conjunction with the SILC Quarterly Business Meeting, Friday, May 10th from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm. at Lexington Hotel, 925 S. Creyts Road, Lansing, MI 48917. Written comments will be accepted through noon, May 20, 2013.  Direct comments to: tracy at misilc.org or, by mail:  MiSILC, 417 Seymour, Suite #10, Lansing, MI 48933.

"SILC values both openness and feedback.  Ongoing communications is critical to all aspects of our operations.  Both state and federal regulations require transparency.  While SILC may analyze and discuss issues prior to adoption, they will be presented for adoption only during formal public meetings.  All SPIL development activity and plan monitoring will be available on the official MiSILC website (www.misilc.org)
