Hi,

Wow!  We could have increased the profitability of our cafeterias if we had
hired state employees on the state payroll.  This is absolutely amazing and
incomprehensible.  How is this minimally legal under Civil Service,
Randolph-Sheppard or PA 260.  Oh, I forgot, This is the work to welfare
administration and the law doesn't apply.

Job Description
This posting is for 10 Student Assistant positions.
These students will be working as a food service partner in one of two
franchised food service facilities located in the Anderson Office Building.
The people in these positions may do a number of different tasks and duties
including food preparation, cashiering, serving customers, clean-up,
stocking, and possibly being identified as a crew leader, overseeing the
activities of other student assistants.
 Required Education and Experience:
Education
Current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or
post-secondary educational institution.
Experience
No specific type or amount is required.
The student must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an
educational institution.

STUDENT ASSISTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION
Employees in this job perform a variety of trade, technical, professional,
or administrative support activities related to a field of academic
specialization for a state department or agency. This classification is
designed to facilitate the employment of high school, college, and
vocational education students seeking temporary employment opportunities
related to career or curriculum goals.

Position Code Title - Student Assistant-E Student Assistant A As a student,
the employee works under the immediate supervision of an administrative
support, trades, technical, professional, or management personnel in the
classified state service.
Work is performed
under well-defined guidelines and assignments are reviewed while in
progress. The level of responsibility is commensurate with the student's
academic attainment. The employee is required to use judgment in the
performance of the work.
JOB DUTIES

Receives training and experience in the activities of a state department or
institution.
