[nfbmi-talk] Announce-Executive Director, New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Vision-Impaired

This is wonderful news for folks in New Jersey. I know that Dan Frye will do a fantastic job directing the NJ Commission for the Blind. He has soldiered through at RSA for a long time now, and attempted as vigorously as he could to educate the good folks at Michigan's BSBP about how to run a proper Business Enterprise program. Sadly that lesson did not take; and Dan was prevented from continuing to insist upon strict adherence to the law. And so we find ourselves caught in a quagmire, with no one in a position of authority having the slightest idea of what to do about it. Meanwhile, those of us who actually have experience running a creditable, honorable, upright BEP, treating blind operators of concessions, cafeterias, cafe's and gift shops with the respect, dignity and fairness that they deserve, can only watch in stunned horror as the scene grows ever bleaker; fraught with wrong-doing, illegality and corruption.

We look to New Jersey with hope for a brighter future than we Michiganders can anticipate, and we join them in celebrating this appointment of a highly qualified candidate to serve as chief of the agency serving blind people in the Garden State!

Congratulations to my friend Dan Frye!

Christine
