Sorry Jeff 5504 wouldn't apply to a food establishment that is private, but
Title III, and Title I of the ADA would.
Now, I'm not saying it would be a good or bad idea of having a guide dog
regularly in a food establishment, just wanted you to know your rights under
the law. Moreover, you would have intense responsabilities for ensuring
cleanliness, proper handling, etc., with your dog as in any circumstances.
As a practical solution though I might suggest that you if you got such a
job use your dog to go to work and perhaps to put it in a safe place away
from food, etc. for your part time shift and then simply work with your
cane. Or you could simply keep the dog at home and work with your cane. But,
my point is these are only suggestions and you do have a legal right to say
work in a cconveniece store or whatever that might sell food products just
like you have the legal right to dine in a restaurant with your guide dog.
Hope this helps. I simply don't wish for you to limit your horizons in any
manner.
Joe
