DANBURY, Conn. (AP) — A Danbury woman has turned herself in after police say she struck a blind pedestrian with her car and fled the scene.

The News-Times of Danbury

reports that Stacie Quinones turned herself into police at about 11:30 p.m. Friday and was charged with evading responsibility, failure to yield the right-of-way

to a blind pedestrian, operating a motor vehicle with registration or license suspended and criminal violation of a protective order.

Police say Quinones struck Jairo Abreu of Danbury at about 10:20 p.m. Friday. The 22-year-old woman was standing at the intersection.

Abreu was taken to Danbury Hospital.

Quinones was released on $1,000 bond and is due to appear in Danbury Superior Court Monday.

She does not have a listed phone number and it was not known Monday if she’s represented by a lawyer.
