This is from the Flint area Chapter of the NFB MI Constitution:
"
The Flint Area Chapter shall not merely be a social organization, but

shall formulate programs and actively work to promote the economic and social betterment of the blind."

Our State Affiliate has these provisions as well.

And it certainly speaks to the purpose of the NFB period which is to be an advocacy organization working for the civil rights of people who are blind and not just a social club of some sort.!

We are after all the organized blind and the blind speaking for ourselves and not some knock off of say the Lions Club (nothing wrong with Lions by the way), or we are not the agency for the blind, but rather we are an organization that is dedicated to making said agencies follow the laws with one of them not openly and blatently discriminating against the very people they are funded at tax payer's expense to serve.
