Quorum, yes, Larry Posont, Mike Powell, Terri Wilcox, Mark Eagle, Dave Robinson, Mary Wurtzel and Sarah Norwood.
Secretary's Report, Terri Wilcox. Dave Robinson moved to adopt the July 24 Minutes. Mike Powell seconded the motion. The motion
was approved.
Treasurer's Report, Mark Eagle. The Pnc account was closed. The General Account has $58,575.30 The Merchant's Division Account was
closed with $150 and some cents. The Newsline Account has 2,083. The Paypal Account has 0. The Youth Grant has 22,231.30. Sarah
Norwood moved to approve the Treasurer's Report. Terri Wilcox seconded the motion. The motion passed. Introduction of
Participating Members
President's Report, Larry Posont. A governmental affairs listserv will be added to the Michigan lists. The Holiday Inn has not yet
issued an invoice for the National Federation of the Blind of Michigan from State Convention. BSBP Concerns A recording is needed
for Lisa Kisiel. The Governor's office issued an Executive Order concerning hiring people with disabilities. At Leadership, our
concerns were told to be reported to the National office. Larry Posont will email President Riccobono. The concerns about
inaccessible electronic medical records are quite possibly not just in Michigan. A discussion occurred about legal issues.
Washington Seminar dates are January 26-29. Great Gathering and student meetings are on Monday, January 26. Appointments will be
January 27 and 28 for Michigan. J.J. Meddaugh is in charge of Washington Seminar. A previous motion will pay for a male and
female room. 1,000 will be allocated for Washington Seminar participants by the President. Mike Powell moved to make December 1
the deadline to attend Washington Seminar. If you want to attend, let Larry Posont and J.J. Meddaugh know. Dave Robinson seconded
the motion. The motion was approved.
Committee Reports Membership: 75 to 80 flyers were returned after being sent out for State Convention. The 75 days of action list
is being compared to these flyers. Mary Ann Robinson is cleaning up the lists. President Posont sent out a letter to the Chapter
Presidents. A letter from Mr. Riccobono will be included. Chapters and affiliates can order banners for around $30 before
November 3. The Affiliate is ordering three banners. The Nemeth Day was a positive event for the Affiliate at the Capitol. The
2015 Senate Questionnaire has been revised. The legislative Committee is working with the Guide Dog Committee and researching the
current Guide Dog law in Michigan. Braille Mug Sales. Some Braille mugs are in Lansing. Chapters can sell them. Marketing is
still a challenge. Amazon takes 15¢ of the sales. Mary Wurtzel will work on getting mugs mailed to people. Chris Danielsen is
putting the Summer Science Spectacular film up on the National website. 75 in 75 Action Committee. The Affiliate is working on the
McComb County Chapter. The Guide Dog Committee is going to be a Division. The Chapter at Large will be reactivated. The Grand
Rapids Chapter is having an open house. Another Board Meeting is scheduled for November 13 to discuss the Michigan Flyer
Resolution.
New Business: Mary Wurtzel suggests a dog show for a fund raiser. The National Federation of the Blind of Michigan name needs to be
protected. Names and people need to be provided. A list of committees is requested. Mike Powell moved to Adjourn. Sarah Norwood
seconded the motion.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:50.
