Would you like to gain valuable experience working with forestry professionals who help manage the country’s largest state forest system?
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Forest Resources Division, has Student Assistant positions available for college students for the summer of
2015 at various locations in the northern Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula for approximately 14 weeks.
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week during summer (May 2015-September 2015)
Work Locations:   Baraga, Crystal Falls, Escanaba, Gwinn, Marquette, Newberry, Naubinway, Shingleton, Atlanta, Cadillac, Gaylord, Gladwin, Grayling, Kalkaska,
Manton and Roscommon.
Pay scale: $15.23-$17.03/hour, depending on college status (i.e., Junior, Senior).

The purpose of this position is to assist land management staff in the field with various forest management duties in a learning capacity.   Work activities
may include assisting land management staff with timber sale preparation; timber survey and marking; permit, contract or plan reviews; review of land use
permits, conduct regeneration surveys and forest health surveys.

 Required Education and Experience:
