That is great. I hope someone fills the position that will
make a real difference. However, most agencies tend to hire within and rarely
hire outside of the state. Then there is a number of agencies that hire unqualified
blind or sighted friends. While, qualified people are ignored and discriminated
against.
If only people in power used it for good and not used people
to get their power.

Introduction
Position is located at VS 33-Oklahoma City.
Position may be filled at a Higher Level.
Essential Functions: This position is responsible for providing extensive
consultation
with the Randolph-Sheppard Business Enterprise Program Licensed Managers in
all aspects
of good business practices. Duties include promoting business opportunities
for the
blind and visually impaired by seeking new locations for vending facilities
that
consist of snack bars, cafes, cafeterias and vending machines. Duties also
include
recommending and coordinating training for the blind and visually impaired
vendors
and monitoring to insure Licensed Manager compliance with federal, state,
and agency
policies and procedures associated with the restaurant and vending
industries.
Applicant must be willing to perform all job related travel. Probationary
period
(or trial period if applicable) is required.
Background Check: The Department of Rehabilitation Services will conduct a
criminal
background check on new hires as part of an offer of employment that is made
contingent
upon a successful criminal background check.
Education and Experience Requirements: Level I- requirements consist of
three years
of experience in the operation of vending facilities, snack bars, cafes or
cafeterias;
or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting the
completion
of thirty semester hours of college course work including six hours in
business administration
or hotel and restaurant administration for each year of the required
experience.
Level II- requirements at this level consist of those identified in Level I
plus
two years of additional experience as a Vending Facility Business
Consultant.

BASIC PURPOSE
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities related to
assisting persons
who are blind to become self-supporting, useful members of society by
helping them
to become successful business owners. Implements a program pertaining to
the establishment
and operation of vending facilities by the blind and visually impaired.
LEVEL DESCRIPTORS
This job family consists of two levels of work which are distinguished by
the depth
and breadth of accountability and the level of responsibility assigned for
providing
direction and leadership in administering assigned programs or activities.
Level I:
This is the entry level where employees are assigned responsibilities for
performing
entry level duties providing basic business consultant services to persons
who are
blind. Consultants at this level provide basic financial and business
management
consultation to vendors in the Business Enterprise Program. Consultants at
this
level provide consultation on the basic upkeep and repair of vending
equipment.
At this level employees are assigned responsibilities which are limited in
size and/or
scope involving the supervision, direction, management, coordination or
implementation
of the Business Enterprise Program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Level I:
Education and Experience requirements consist of a bachelor's degree in
business
administration, hotel and restaurant administration, accounting, culinary
arts or
a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience,
substituting one year of experience in the operation of vending facilities,
snack
bars, cafes, cafeterias or restaurants for each year of required education.

Scores based on:
100% Evaluation of Education and Experience listed on the application.
