[nfbmi-talk] student division question

Hello,

There are 2 points, here. First, Elizabeth is correct that the Student
Division does not need approval to hold an event. However, if the event is
to be funded from affilliate general funds, the board would need to approve
such funding. If the students raise their own money, then, it seems to me
they may do any kind of event, commensurate with NFBMI policy, they choose.

There was extensive discussion of an employment seminar at the leadership
retreat. As Dave states, the board did not appropriate any funding for the
event. Jordyn did present an estimated budget which did not mention funding
sources. I believe it was to be in March.

Warmest Regards,

Fred

Hi Elizabeth,

The proposal was to have the State affiliate to fund this seminar, using
already existing resources like BSBP, the One-stops, etc. to the tune of
$12,000.

So though no formal proposal was put forward, which is what Lydia was asking
for the notion of funding this event and the dollar amount were mentioned at
the leadership retreat.

So Dave is right on in his statement and he answered Lydia's questions .

Joe
