Job Description
The Eligibility and Intake Specialist focuses intensely on the eligibility
determination, job matching, and hiring of individuals with disabilities and
other barriers to employment entering Peckham's Organizational Employment
Programs. This position works very closely with interdepartmental staff in
posting positions, outreach, interviewing, scheduling aptitude assessments,
determining program eligibility, and hiring new team members. ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Review team member
applications, schedule and conduct interviews with individuals interested in
Organizational Employment Services Work with applicants to determine their
strengths, interests, functional limitations, and potential utilization of
Assistive Technology and other job accommodations Screen applicants to
determine eligibility for services Conduct security checks, schedule
aptitude assessments, and coordinate pre-hire training for applicants Work
with supervisors and managers to post team member job openings at Peckham
and community locations Work with supervisors to identify opportunities for
upward mobility, post upgraded team member positions, and assist in
facilitating interviews for internal applicants Complete the necessary
paperwork for the Ticket to Work program Act as referral agent to state
vocational rehabilitation and other community service agencies as
appropriate Consult with Vocational Services Specialists regarding
eligibility criteria Work with existing referral sources and foster public
relations to enhance Peckham's partnerships with community agencies Follow
all Peckham policies and procedures for hiring Follow all legal requirements
for job postings and hiring Utilize a team work approach for all projects
Promote Peckham's vision, values, and services to all customers and
stakeholders Assist in maintaining organization wide quality standards
Assist in the training of people with disabilities Knowledge of Microsoft
Office XP (Word, Excel, Access) and typing Maintain a safe and clean work
environment Other related duties as assigned
