Subject: Important RTA Update Fwd: Time for all-hands-on-deck for regional transit!

Hello board,

I think this is something we need to get involved with, as any chance of a RTA proposal going to the voters in Southeast Michigan hinges on this support. Info is below. I'd recommend getting people to the RTA board meeting in Birmingham. If people aren't able to go to that, any of the public comment sessions would work as well.

There is also a way to submit public comment online and I'll get that info out soon as well.

Obviously, anyone in Oakland or Macomb county is especially important to this effort.

Thanks.

Hi Jason!

The next few weeks could be make or break for getting regional transit on the ballot. We need every transit supporter involved to make them successful!

Can I count on your help, Jason?

There are three priority ways we need your help:

1) Please come to the RTA's first public meeting <http://click.actionnetwork.org/mpss/c/4AA/ni0YAA/t.2gs/G0HXeZZ2SzOesryxgWTXfw/h1/HE2UYZIDTZxfLuJ8qHDFiKcv9QeqMGLDJ3IrF8dj2B1SlDtY9k4Y6sI2yU4BIlZ1AQpEpfoM2OPX4lIhodgGt6Ap3PDLR2TOycL8R73ZxfTJekaoulvQrLhacMORd8OhXMS2V1LCW5t-2FuJNdi1Jzi7obOG66bg51X2qE-2Bk3uWW4nkfO3WCav6a-2BDqNTpsou73qRQYfmIeQR8VrDINRIK67Ez0wRk80LZcQyuN1r-2BcIIPxVcYPEJyT8W3LVIk02ACl-2BJoq905yy3MvJ18AiDvF3q0CQycYrN-2F-2FSudU5OkAtPg0mvHqJL736vlGxHngKMSVXJO9lYRgxXKtXZuYUDIxA-3D-3D> on the newly proposed regional transit plan <http://click.actionnetwork.org/mpss/c/4AA/ni0YAA/t.2gs/G0HXeZZ2SzOesryxgWTXfw/h2/Rl7tUvpqm90FQopPWAGQINn6DJ8TZ-2FxQCmaQZcJNO7o9SWnawx48rs-2BoV2B2CYCbdHqosTy8-2BM1mPmAo8AfsX00aNj-2B5gZYzh81YqKvdGv2yjJcRFF-2BwC-2BAupaoxpFPRQtAleRRvVqv0pKSgUNParqnhmlU9o4dOFu0dK5sY9My1EFAZtmaPYAw7Ety7IFgNj4r-2FMEtbGv4iFhYFFpz-2Fkm3wqRBsGypF9LpbY8K6u1vueUIXmUtWPSdaKypTZM12uaYx3Z9MUlsZaoZYPKPXy48Gn-2B9vJncW4uwdMIGMdPXexSq6IqO5sVExTbY3VGVJ> – next Wednesday evening April 25 at the Birmingham Public Library. (more details below)

2) Please help promote <http://click.actionnetwork.org/mpss/c/4AA/ni0YAA/t.2gs/G0HXeZZ2SzOesryxgWTXfw/h3/HE2UYZIDTZxfLuJ8qHDFiFCr-2Bcp8IKIgtnua6JuHG9yVkIb-2BiqDgvkWgPya6ItDGgo-2Fy9t1ZV86MI-2Bdsi4G2et4fQy9vxvDQUyk6vgiic4OxQB9FV8-2Fg1DNT5xNdpZb6q3CCVZUMRlG45Nyz7u2McPFi3Rqxz55-2Ftgpp4jb4HwMOzf8wTLIN8g2pdr5rnM0oLzF0WGYOGbhw0ViL0L3asIpzOncQ2tebZArInM9vll0-2FOSlSK-2B-2FP6fkrwNVyihBIVtJWe1NSoJl3hTHn88zlduL8UWGj445tORGEW0jsJCFOfR-2B1cmd59jQaGYdwdstLX0KR1kB6AtqlS7EeQhmuINcpoKzScjDxJvokuAyiXX0-3D> the series of public meetings the RTA is holding over the next two weeks and encourage your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to all come out to one of them.

3) Please join the transit debate on Twitter <http://click.actionnetwork.org/mpss/c/4AA/ni0YAA/t.2gs/G0HXeZZ2SzOesryxgWTXfw/h4/9RXDenI7BReTpKa-2F42PXTLNa3ptIIWxmWsW6aB4BMELLs82vo-2BHFRPhQDBFhBNYwc3LFKNPIdZpQ360ZSs085tVQ3U-2BYV4Ien7-2FzXIf9dlT6U7fQVY5RUcr3va2i3vvjf7ICsY6SRQMrPtIZYBKjaPXqJCDosX5W2bV2YWJc1x4TBorYNTuuuIITYFu-2BpTY-2BWfL69sivNleUrhFtmf8Q6rrU7v8qKmpdaFVi-2BPUmg5pSRTssG7CDV-2FtcILFK1aO1SDfReBUp-2B79ynnXOAG2kKJi3d2vtxDdbomgtC1Kqo9y-2FDi-2BGzoXEpnParrQcKvLZ> and <http://click.actionnetwork.org/mpss/c/4AA/ni0YAA/t.2gs/G0HXeZZ2SzOesryxgWTXfw/h5/HE2UYZIDTZxfLuJ8qHDFiG2EjqM23EfvUpiRBAB2jXnSs2EabSSJ0-2BbYa4iMomqIwby6wVsP86JaPQFGH8n0ilDGIzZw6-2BSwk0AoF-2Fdbnt-2BttujJIlQ8pGauBL9BjSyOFJEifUduzoV4DSptnGn6sooY9PV-2FwnucwCDpdqu2fuKfEH0LDta-2BUtJK6LmKL4H-2BD5UjU8DQ-2FGAbQ8UANutHFC8uPqP4UUbjdnVmPFxspuU7mkXSMeU7MNx9phv6pVHjMwaTdLV4-2FlyeSE0aKx-2Fh4CHRaOMS2Kzu88vm-2F6XLIn7r0gPO7VahUW5k7Yj48pkD> Facebook, both this afternoon when the Big 4 debate transit and over the next two weeks. <http://click.actionnetwork.org/mpss/c/4AA/ni0YAA/t.2gs/G0HXeZZ2SzOesryxgWTXfw/h6/HE2UYZIDTZxfLuJ8qHDFiDt7qo4ZfWAmVECY4eGOdRCToyugoRtM-2ByCHrH0YYcxBN-2BpP87sXoimNPhwPTvZ6Le0qEFxUMp1cgUuDi6si8o4HKijbNZ-2Fz1OxjcGh6H6WqpyOB6hekxxn85mDlq7t2l03ehIWvYVHGjBUppy6CJSwiuBI7MVj17Ym-2Fg81DqLtcXf2IOZVzmSspcgqoKMFIhINL3gn-2ByHpJSJeSkDNWx7ik9EowG5OBlB-2Fdra-2FhsO1MejvXQpMRBLcqdvjoQLCBI5IjmMVqlTrLL5IG6cRhBLCZ3J61cSeVKUEnQ9phFDp12DEoG2N1L6S2eoAABt4IGEWqUmy2qxOEtLUzu7o93F8mKwzsCqmwMmyjnMyd7eef> Share why transit matters to you, comment on what you like or don’t like, and like and share posts from TRU, RTA and others. Follow #RTA2018 and #ConnectSEMI to be part of the debate.

We've got broad support from not only the region's top CEOs, but also Wayne, Washtenaw, Detroit, and southeast Oakland political leaders and dozens of community leaders as well. Together we can tip the scales to make sure we invest in regional transit this year!

Details:

The RTA is hosting six public meetings for you to share your thoughts on the newly proposed Connect Southeast Michigan plan <http://click.actionnetwork.org/mpss/c/4AA/ni0YAA/t.2gs/G0HXeZZ2SzOesryxgWTXfw/h7/Rl7tUvpqm90FQopPWAGQINn6DJ8TZ-2FxQCmaQZcJNO7qs0w-2FTQs3K-2BJLwb9HEcvZfoJ93nVts-2BYT-2Fu7jG-2BV-2Frjxs2kgEyTD4wuEhyRomwKKA0UG3okE0B0zURpUdl4qfuysWvjy19Uq50IkSefxsiGU3FIgQe-2Bd5311r7kRr3IZsmKo2nFthwHPenFsQ2I3qcIxNeTV7QAEB44cQmEizWqvSD1oMNP6XJbhii5nyvMz6eYWVORP8ERIxwFvsP4t1clyTUSGITVuXjEeRmgCpiC8fjxdD-2FxyDbpvd68SWsx0-2Bi4KXtfvO-2Bv02HuV1VAgvV> . The plan, originally presented by Wayne County Executive at the March 2018 RTA Board Meeting, builds on the RTA’s original 2016 Regional Transit Master Plan. It incorporates community feedback that the RTA received after the millage vote to fund the Master Plan was narrowly defeated.

Please attend any one of these meetings to show your support and share your feedback. All will be held from 5:30-7:30pm:

*	Wed, April 25 at the Baldwin Public Library in Birmingham (300 W Merrill)
*	Thurs, April 26 at the Detroit Historical Museum (5401 Woodward)
*	Mon, April 30 at Schoolcraft College in Livonia (18600 Haggerty)
*	Wed, May 2 at the main branch Ann Arbor Public Library (343 S Fifth)
*	Wed, May 2 at the Rochester Community House (816 Ludlow)
*	Thurs, May 3 at the Mt Clemens Public Library (150 Cass)

With useful feedback and a strong show of interest, along with pressure from both CEOs and constituents, we can make sure transit funding gets on the ballot this year and wins!!

Thanks for your help!

Megan Owens, Executive Director
