Subject: NFBCO Presents Blind Parents Seminar and YOU are Invited!

Dear Friends

The Blind Parents Division of the National Federation of the Blind of Colorado is excited to announce a seminar for blind parents. Join us on Saturday, August 23-24 at the Colorado Center for the Blind in Littleton, Colorado. This high energy, interactive, and informative seminar offers something for the whole family!

We will kick off Friday evening with a fun family bowling night, which is included in the cost of registration ($25 individual or $50 for the family). Saturday we will begin bright and early with a continental breakfast/social hour followed by general sessions. We are excited to announce that Melissa Riccobono will be our keynote speaker. In the afternoon, we have breakout sessions for parents of infants and toddlers, elementary school aged children, pre-teen and teens, and a special track for grandparents. We will also have youth track as well as nursery care for children three and under which is free of charge. After the seminar, those who are interested can head to Romano’s Pizzeria for great food and fun. Each family will be responsible for covering their own food cost.

We have a jam-packed agenda that include topics such as discussions of our legal rights, tools for self-advocacy, and resources provided by the NFB. We will cover everything from how to make baby food and measure medicine to driving and applying for college. Grandparents will learn how to stay involved, connected, and share their rich history with their grandchildren.

We ask that affiliate presidents help us spread the word to parents and grandparents who may be interested and benefit from this event. <https://www.eventbrite.com/e/blind-parents-seminar-tickets-61853819439?ref=enivtefor001&utm_source=eb_email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=inviteformalv2&utm_term=attend> Click here to register. You can book your room at the Hampton Inn and Suites Highlands Ranch by calling 303-794-1800. Mention that you are with the Colorado Center for the Blind to receive our special room rate. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service within a five-mile radius of the hotel which does include service to the Colorado Center for the Blind. If you have further questions about the seminar or need assistance registering, please reach out to Maureen Nietfeld at 215-353-7218 or <mailto:maureenbassmaster at gmail.com> maureenbassmaster at gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing you in the Mile-High City!

Cheers
