Hi. I received the following, courtesy of NFB Indiana State Affiliate
President Ron Brown. But it applies to anyone who is blind and who
has experience with attempting to independently navigate COVID-related
Websites or to coordinate with testing sites. You do not have to be a
member of the National Federation of the Blind to make a difference on
this one.

Please read below for details, forward to whomever you deem
appropriate, and respond as directed.

Thank you.

Subject: Media request regarding accessibility of COVID-19 vaccination
information and registration

Dear Fellow Federationists:

Lauren Weber and Hannah Recht, reporters for Kaiser Health News, are
working on an investigation into accessibility to the blind for covid
websites and vaccine registrations. So far, they have found multiple
instances where vaccine registration websites and covid information
pages are inaccessible with screen readers -- a violation of the ADA.
Have you or others in your state run across such problems? If so,
please describe what you've encountered for Lauren Weber at
<mailto:laurenw at kff.org> laurenw at kff.org or call her at
<tel:3147035829> 314.703.5829 before Thursday, so she can best
describe this national problem in its entirety. Please also copy our
legal program coordinator, Valerie Yingling, at vyingling at nfb.org
<mailto:vyingling at nfb.org> so that we are also collecting this
information at the national office.

Warmly,

Chris
