Origins - November 11, 2 pm EST

Hi,

As you have attended virtual verbal description programs offered by The
Henry Ford in the past, I wanted to send a reminder about our next virtual
verbal description program, coming up on Thursday, November 11, from 2-4 pm
EST. This program will be about the origins of Studio Glass. More
information is below. If you are interested in attending the program,
please reply to this email or send an email to
<mailto:accessibility at thehenryford.org> accessibility at thehenryford.org.

The Henry Ford Virtual Verbal Description Program -

Studio Glass: Origins

Date: November 11, 2021

Time: 2-4 pm EST

Studio Glass is all around us. It adorns places like airports, banks,
hotels, even casinos. You might even own a piece of mass-produced Studio
Glass that you purchased in a boutique, department, or discount store.

Now, you might ask, what is Studio Glass? We define it as the use of glass
as art to produce sculptures and other types of three-dimensional artwork.
This is glass made in a workshop, usually under the direction of the artist
who designed the piece. This program will focus on the origins of Studio
Glass through the experiments of Harvey Littleton, who created revolutionary
technology for artists to work in glass.

Please join The Henry Ford's Curator of Decorative Arts, Charles Sable, for
an insightful program on how this ubiquitous art form emerged.

This experience will be conducted remotely in verbal description and
conversation. The program will be held via Zoom and will be accessible by
web link and call-in phone number, depending on your preference.

This program is free. Reservations are required and space is limited. Please
email <mailto:accessibility at thehenryford.org>
accessibility at thehenryford.org or call 313-982-6168 to register and with any
questions.

Thank you!
