Hey Folks

A few quick notes for those who are following the national convention virtually:

  * The official hashtag for the national convention is #NFB22. Using this hashtag in the search feature of your favorite social media application will connect you with posts and users that are also experiencing the convention in person and virtually. So, whether you use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Tik Tok, you can be connected to New Orleans.
  * The official convention hashtag for the Michigan affiliate during national convention is #NFBMIStrong. Using this hashtag in the search feature will connect you with fundraising updates and the experiences of the strong presence that the NFB of Michigan is bringing to convention.
  * If you are a Facebook user, please take some time to check out our NFB of Michigan group, where members will be posting their experiences, memorable quotes, and other items. To find this page, you can visit https://www.facebook.com/events/336462415353587/?acontext=%7B%22event_action_history%22:%C3%84%7B%22extra_data%22:%22%22,%22mechanism%22:%22unknown%22,%22surface%22:%22newsfeed%22%7D,%7B%22extra_data%22:%22%22,%22mechanism%22:%22surface%22,%22surface%22:%22permalink%22%7D,%7B%22extra_data%22:%22%22,%22mechanism%22:%22surface%22,%22surface%22:%22create_dialog%22%7D%C3%91,%22ref_notif_type%22:null%7D&onload_action=online_event_upsell_dialog<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fevents%2F336462415353587%2F%3Facontext%3D%257B%2522event_action_history%2522%3A%25C3%2584%257B%2522extra_data%2522%3A%2522%2522%2C%2522mechanism%2522%3A%2522unknown%2522%2C%2522surface%2522%3A%2522newsfeed%2522%257D%2C%257B%2522extra_data%2522%3A%2522%2522%2C%2522mechanism%2522%3A%2522surface%2522%2C%2522surface%2522%3A%2522permalink%2522%257D%2C%257B%2522extra_data%2522%3A%2522%2522%2C%2522mechanism%2522%3A%2522surface%2522%2C%2522surface%2522%3A%2522create_dialog%2522%257D%25C3%2591%2C%2522ref_notif_type%2522%3Anull%257D%26onload_action%3Donline_event_upsell_dialog&data=05%7C01%7Crobert.e.parsons%40wmich.edu%7Ca4fb3335631b49c4c8ae08da5c267b94%7C257622517aa94c72905f39bf026a8a84%7C0%7C0%7C637923617750688486%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C2000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=6vY2riWoiWUPCzsGqNqEgHejcrA1HAJ59sotCgSxQXQ%3D&reserved=0>.
  * The NFB of Michigan's event on Facebook is the location where the fundraising committee will be unveiling the winner of our upcoming 50/50 raffle. For information on how you can get involved in that fundraising opportunity, please call or text at (269) 216-8640.
  * Of course, don't forget to keep up with the Action Auction through social media. We will be posting about the items and fundraising progress of the virtual auction until bidding closes on July 10 at midnight. With $1560.00 raised, be sure to share the link www.nfbmi.org/auction<http://www.nfbmi.org/auction> with friends and social media acquaintances. We will also have deep dives and advertisements for items that are available. Remember, I have my mind set on the Wine Basket with the Echo speaker included so be nice.

This is shaping up to be an exciting convention and we want everyone in the Michigan affiliate to experience the great work the Federation is doing nationally. If you have questions about getting connected to #NFB22, please feel free to reach out.

Thanks,

Robert Parsons
Board Member| National Federation of the Blind of Michigan
