The Henry Ford Virtual Verbal Description Program – 

"From Blobs to Wow! Studio Glass in Late 20th Century America"  

Date: March 31, 2022

 

Time: 2-4 pm EDT

 

Studio Glass is all around us. It adorns places like airports, banks, hotels, even casinos.  You might even own a piece of mass-produced Studio Glass that you purchased in a boutique, department, or discount store.   This is the second in a series that focuses on how Studio Glass evolved over the past fifty years.  We will review the experiments of Harvey Littleton, who created revolutionary technology for artists to work in glass in the 1960s.  We will then explore how his students created this extraordinary art form.

Please join Curator of Decorative Arts, Charles Sable, for an insightful program on how this ubiquitous art form grew to be an essential part of the American landscape.

 

This experience will be conducted remotely in verbal description and conversation. The program will be held via Zoom and will be accessible by web link and call-in phone number, depending on your preference.
