Subject: [NFBMI-Talk] You're Invited: NFBMI Youth and Family Planning Party!

National Federation of the Blind of Michigan Youth and Family Program
Planning Committee

Date: February 6, 2023
Time: 8pm EDT
Location: NFBMI Zoom

Many attendees of our 2022 NFBMI state convention , some new and some
seasoned, asked our leadership for a return to attention to family
programming for 2023 in the National Federation of the Blind of Michigan.
The enthusiasm that was communicated that weekend by those attendees was
echoed by our generous sponsors, community partners, and state-federal
vocational rehabilitation agency, who are all excited to learn about what
our membership can create. At our next committee meeting, we'd love to
brainstorm with you all on our upcoming youth project and other ideas, which
our leadership is currently receiving specialized training for. The purpose
of the NFBMI Youth and Family Program Planning committee is to independently
create quality statewide programs that benefit blind children, students, and
parents; while:

  * Promoting Transferrable Skills for Members in Other Realms of Life
  * Maintaining the philosophical direction of the National Organization
  * Promoting Safety and Security of Members Involved in all Programs.
  * Assuring Age-Appropriate Programming and Relevant Curriculum for
Participants
  * Assuring Programming Occurs Across the State to Avoid Centralization
  * Daring to Challenge the Norm and Expand the Horizons of Michigan's
Blind

We look forward to hearing from all of you and can't wait to consider all
your input as we make our upcoming youth program the best Michigan has to
offer! If you have any questions about our committee or how to get more
involved, contact us at President at nfbmi.org<mailto:President at nfbmi.org> or
(269) 216-8640.
With Love, Hope and Determination,

Robert Parsons, Jr.
President, National Federation of the Blind of Michigan
