Hello to all members of, and fellow travelers with, the National
Federation of the Blind who lie within the reach of this message.

Congratulations to two particular individuals who are just across the
border to my north in Michigan. As you will see below, this year's
class of National Scholarship finalists includes

•	Felecia Bradford: Social Work Technician; and
•	Ellen Harper: Public Policy Attorney specializing in Disability Rights.

Michigan is close to my heart, because I lived there for nearly five
years in the late 1990s. That two from that state are going to
Houston as National Scholarship finalists speaks volumes about the
hard work and high standards that permeate the Michigan Affiliate.
Congratulations go to Immediate Past President Michael Powell and
current President Rob Parsons, and to countless others whose tireless
effort and boundless creativity have moved mountains for blind
Michiganians over the years.

Let's keep building the Federation and raising expectations for one
another and for ourselves.

Respectfully,

Kane Brolin
