I just received the above link and a corresponding announcement from
Lauren Altman, president of the National Association of Blind
Students. She mentioned that NABS is making funds conditionally
available to students who will commit to full participation in the NFB
Washington Seminar 2024. Yes, it's that time again--time to make
plans to be in our nation's capital from the evening of Sunday,
January 28 through Thursday, February 1.

Lauren wants to make us aware that this NABS scholarship for #NFBWS24
should never be viewed as one's primary go-to source of grant funding.
Furthermore, anyone who applies successfully to receive funding from
NABS must be a student during the 2023-24 academic year. Yes, this
means you could be a high school student. You must commit not just to
being in the District of Columbia during those dates, but also to
taking part fully in a number of discrete events set to happen in the
course of #NFBWS24. Those events are listed on the form.

But the good news is that this Google form does not set a precondition
that you must have been active in NABS previous to applying for these
funds. If interested, then click on the link at the top of this
e-mail. Read carefully, fill out thoroughly, and e-mail Lauren if you
have questions: nabs.president at gmail.com.

Thank you.

Cordially,
