Thrilling Thursday Federationists!
Are you a blind person seeking employment during the holiday season? Do you
have questions on how opportunities for blind people can be maximized in
Michigan and what tools they used to get a job? The National Federation of
the Blind of Michigan has you covered with an exciting interactive workshop
this weekend. Our 2024 employment panel offers guests an opportunity to hear
about the job search, development and , selection of three Federationists
that are currently employed: turning their dreams into reality. Hear from
these leaders of our organization and their own lives as they educate us on
the realistic aspects of the job market, job search, job expectations,
skills attainment and working for businesses like Amazon. Along with this
information about the experiences of these blind employees, please join our
leaders who include employment professionals, rehabilitation practitioners
and others for a robust conversation about ways you can maximize your
potential in the occupational space. This program is not a one-stop shop to
give blind people a job, but one to equip you with the tools needed to
advocate for your individual employment journey. The Federation supports you
and can't wait to have this conversation with you and provide additional
resources.
