Happy New Year Federationist,
The NFBMI Youth and Family Program Planning Committee continues to focus on
creating content that will enrich the lives and experiences and help create
employment opportunities for blind parents, students, and children. Along
with supporting the parents and youth we launched the STEM2U program during
the 2023 R.E.A.L. program to the 8-13 age group which promotes nonvisual
accessible STEM lessons and activities to blind youth.
Please join the Youth and Family Planning Committee which will be holding
the first meeting of 2024 on Friday, January 12th at 5:30 PM via the
Michigan Zoom room (Zoom link below). The purpose of the meeting is to begin
the planning of the 2024 R.E.A.L. Program. The tentative date for this
year's program is Friday, June 21, 2024 - Sunday, June 23, 2024, in Flint
Michigan.
Everyone is invited to join in on the planning of the 2024 R.E.A.L.
programming. The following agenda items will be discussed:
* Program Location (Tentative: Hilton Garden Inn)
* MAER Attendance (April 25th, 26th and 27th)
* Programming
* Youth 8-13
* Pre-ETS 14+
* Participant Application
